Darien Fire & EMS has an urgent need for new members willing to commit to serving our families, neighbors and community. Beginning with a firm foundation of professional training provided at no charge, along with the finest equipment and your desire and commitment, you also can be proud to help your community and neighbors. Along with your service in one of America's greatest traditions, you will feel the pride in making a difference in someones's life.
It is no secret that available volunteers are hard to find, especially during the weekday work hours. Our plea for help is real; time after time, when the call goes out, your volunteer team members leave work and families to respond with minimal staffing.
Not sure if joining is for you? Call us and we will schedule a tour and explain what the job is like and then you decide if you want to join. Who can join? Just about anybody in good physical condition from 18 on up! Many of our members started late in life after the kids are grown and they need something to do and stay active well into their retirement years.
Don't think you want to enter a burning house? Not a problem! We have many jobs that are vital, yet keep you out of the heat. Not interested in firefighting at all? That's fine! Do you like helping people? Becoming an EMT (Emergency Medical Technician) is great way to make a difference in someones's life.
· High School Diploma or equivalent.
· High School Senior on track to graduate.
· Valid drivers's license and vehicle with insurance.
· Have NO felony convictions.
· Must be in good physical condition.
· Desire to commit to our TEAM!
